LIFE-STUDIES
The human form is a challenging subject which has always interested me and allowed for considerable graphical development.
With a focus on shape and form I have a tendency to accord the face of the model equal attention as any other part of the body, causing a sense of depersonalisation. This is a deliberately deployed approach; the work is not portraiture, and bodies have scant, if any, facial features - often turned away. However I have occasionally allowed a sense of person to creep in, and just for completeness have gathered a small collection of life studies here where the character and identity of the model can be seen.
