Charcoal and chalk is a forgiving combination - allowing for blending, correcting and overlaying, and thereby being a good starter for any beginner.
To be successful however a good graphic framework is needed, and a strong tonal observation. The work of these children demonstrates a range of success, and is interesting for collectively highlighting a variety of both approach and facial character.
