"Songs V"

This is a very strong piece of work - the centre section is particularly well struck; underneath (and subdued by) the gestural turquoise lines a sky blue is heavily brushed upon thinly stretched turquoise - a wonderful combination of blues which positively glows. I would be pleased to carry this strong brushwork forward. The sky blue links to a base corner colour where a strong purple was initially subdued with a rub of opaque beige. I am pleased with the overall pallette which is unusual and tensioned.
A pleasing return to this worthwhile but under-explored series.
