"Series35 I, II & III"
Oil on canvas.
These three unusual pieces have had a long history. They were overpainted from previous paintings then - on the first two - red and orange was used before the direction settled. A new base was then laid with the sub-layers giving interesting and welcome texture.
The three pieces then oscillated the wonderful mid-toned paul veronese green, inky viridian and turquoise.
The third piece followed on smoothly from this direction and as a result had a cleaner, less worked feel. This led to some disparity in the team and an eventual repainting where the colour took on a very much more laboured and ambitious direction.
I am very happy with the new edgy feel. This could mark the start of a heavier push.
