"Divide I quinacridone rose".
Oil on canvas.
One of two large square pieces that I produced before moving onto the 40'' x 30'' format as standard.
This is an extremely worked painting, and has as a result developed some beautiful and absorbing surface, with alot of interest - even down to the detail.
In the main central section is a dramatic and powerful combination of burnt sienna, raw umber and the fabulous quinacridone rose.
I am very pleased with this painting. It enjoys a particularly interesting and well-layered surface, good tonal rhythm, with strong emotive overtones.
